Background:

Juma Mohammad Mohammadi industrial park in Bagrami, Kabul, is one of three that has been constructed by USAID Oct 26, 2005 and managed by the Afghan Investment Support Agency. The industrial park is one of three that has been constructed by USAID and managed by the Afghan Investment Support Agency.  The total project cost is expected to be over $20 million.  The three parks will offer a modern, full-service business location for over 120 new businesses, which in turn could create up to 10,000 new jobs for Afghan citizens.
 

Head of the AISA Mohammad Qurban Haqjo said 20151118 ,” in the following 19 industrial factories 100 $ million will be invested and it will produce electronic instruments, and food items.” 5 factories will produce food items as you all know we import more than 1 $ billion food items from abroad annually Head of AISA Haqjo added.

Further he has mentioned that by inauguration of the factories hundreds of jobs opportunities will be created for Afghans.

Based on the estimation of the Administration investment support agency there are 8 industrial parks which are located in different parts of the country where most of them are suffering from power shortages which is declared as serious challenge.(20151118)

According to the Afghanistan Industries Association, only 480 of the 1,067 factories established in Pul-e-Charkhi Industrial Park are active, and the rest are shut down due to various problems, including electricity shortages.(20200818)
