3. Biodata:
Sayed Yusuf Halim, son of Said Hussain, was born 1959 in Nangahar Province, Afghanistan. He was awarded Bachelor of Art in Law and Political Science , Kabul University. He joined the Ministry of Justice 1985. President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai introduced Halim as High Court member-designate. He has to be confirmed by Wolesi Jirga (20150615)
 

Sayed Yousuf Halim who recently became member of Afghanistan’s Supreme Court has been approved by Presidential Palace to take office as the new Chief Justice for the country. Halim took oath as a member of the Supreme Court on July 27, 2015 and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah while talking to the council of ministers said that he will be soon officially introduced as the Chief Justice. He was introduced to the Wolesi Jirga or Lower House of Parliament for a vote of confidence by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani at the beginning of July where he secured 103 votes to become member of Afghanistan’s Supreme Court. Sayed Yousuf Halim is on the edge of becoming the Chief Justice at the time the judiciary is facing strong criticism for corruption. (20150727)
