Balkh Provincial Council Members’ biographies

1 – Dr. Mohammad Afzal Hadid:
Dr. Mohammad Afzal Hadid, son of Ustad Mohammad Aslam, was born in Mazar-i-Sharif city, the capital of northern Balkh province in 1966. While having no political affiliation, Hadid got higher education in medical and is the director of provincial council in Balkh province.
2 - Ghulam Abas Akhlaqi:
Ghulam Abas Akhlaqi, son of Mohammad Hassan, was born in 1968. After graduation from high school he had joined Wahdat-i-Islami party during the Jihad against the Soviet troops. He is the deputy head of provincial council in Balkh province.
3 – Mrs. Shakiba Shakeeb:
Shakiba Shakeeb, daughter of Mohammad Azeem Shakeb, was born in 1977. She is a fourteen grader and earlier she carried out the business of handicrafts and was economic affairs manager at women’s affairs department. She had no political affiliation and is a member of provincial council in Balkh province.
4 – Haji Bashir Ahmad Azizullah:
Haji Bashir Ahamd Azizullah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sakhi, was born in Yadgar area of Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Balkh province in 1968. Being a school graduate, he served as commander of Jamiat-i-islami parity during the Jihad against soviet troops. Azizullah served as head detective at 7th Military Corps and is member of provincial council in Balkh province.
5 – Mrs. Rababa Nayebee:
Rababa Nayebee, daughter of Chaman Ali, was born in 1960. She lives in Mazar-i-Sharif city and had completed the high school. Earlier, she had worked at the martyrs, disabled, labor and social affairs department as in charge of literacy management department. Nayebee is a member of provincial council in northern Balkh province.
 6 – Maulana Hamidullah Motavakil:
Maulana Hamidullah Motavakil, son of Mohammad Khanif, was born in 1969. He had gotten higher education in Hadith “The Saying of Prophet Hazrt-i-Mohammad PBUH” and political science. Having no political background, Motavakil earlier worked as a teacher and is a member of provincial council in northern Balkh province.
 7 – Mahmoud Jan Makhdoom:
Mahmoud Jan, son of Hamidullah, was born in Tashqorghan area of Kulm district in northern Balkh province in 1970. He completed high school and earlier had served as commander of Jamiat-i-islami party and is a member of this party until now.
8 – Rayees Abdul Khaliq:
Rayees Abdul Khaliq, son of Abdul Razaq, was born in the Sholgar district of northern Balkh province in 1965. He previously served as a commander of Jamiat-i-islami party during the Jihad against soviet troops and is member of provincial council in Balkh province.
9 – Wakil Mohammad Khan Daulatzai:
Haji Wakil Mohammad Khan, son of Sofi Aisa Khan, was born in Boka village of Balkh district in northern Balkh province in 1969. He earlier served as commander at Hezb-i-Islami party and is a member of provincial council in Balkh province.
10 – Haji Abdulwakil Qayumi:
Haji Abdulwakil Qayumi, son of Abdul Qayum was born in 1970 in Balkh district of Balkh province. He is a high school graduate and was a commander of Jamiat-i-Islami Pary. He participated in Emergency Loya Jirga and before being a representative, served as regional council head in the province.
11 – Haji Abdul Rauf Amiri:
Haji Abdul Rauf Amiri, son of Amir Mohammad, was born in the Nahr-i-Shahi district of northern Balkh province in 1961. He earlier served as a businessman and has the membership of of Jamiat-i-islami party. Amiri is a member of provincial council in Balkh province.
12 – Mrs. Bilqis Hadi:
Bilqis Hadi, daughter of Sarwar, was born in the Chamtal district of northern Balkh province in 1963. Being a university graduate, she is a member of Wahdat-i-Islami party and is a member of provincial council in Balkh province.
13 - Syed Abdullah Masroor:
Syed Abdullah Masroor, son of Asadullah, was born in the Chaharkind district of northern Balkh province in 1990. Previously, he was a school student. Being a student of political science faculty, Masroor has no political background and is a member of provincial council in Balkh province.
14 – Haji Shah Mohammad Jamali:
Haji Shah Mohammad Jamali, son of Jamaludin, was born in 1958. He completed high school and has the membership of Jamiat-i-islami party. He also served as tribal elder and is a member of provincial council in Balkh province.
15 – Haji Bashir Salimi:
Haji Bashir Salimi, son of Asaludin, was born in the Sholgar district of northern Balk province in 1969. He privately had gotten religious studies and was a member of Jamiat-i-Islami party during the war against soviet troops. He presently is a member of Junbish-i-Millie party and provincial council in Balkh province.
16 – Mrs. Mahboba Sadat:
Mahboba Sadat, daughter of Syed Ibrar, was born in the Dihdadi district of northern Balkh province in 1975. She lives in Mazar-i-Sharif city and earlier served as a teacher and is a member of provincial council in Balkh province. She is a student of education faculty at Balkh University.
17 – Mrs. Rahima Nasrati:
Rahima Nasrati, daughter of Ghaibullah, was born in the provincial capital of northern Balkh province in 1956. She found her way to Balkh provincial council by securing 2,400 ballots and earlier she worked as a school teacher. She is a fourteen grader, but she has no connection with any political party.
18 – Abdul Rashid Dawran:
Abdul Rashid Dawran, son of Haji Abdul Hamid, was born in 1983. Having no political affiliation, he earlier served as in charge of National Solidarity Council in his district and is a member of provincial council in Balkh province. Rashid Dawran came under the suspicion to cooperate with militants after he consulted with the council on numerous occasions before Eid-ul-Fitr. A group of militants recently detained in capital Kabul has said during investigation that this person was cooperating with them.

19 – Ustad Abdul Wakil:
Ustad Abdul Wakil, son of Habibullah was born in northern Balkh province in 1963. He completed high school and served as Jihad commander during the soviet occupation of the country. Presently, he serves as a member of provincial council in Balkh province.
