The interior ministry of Afghanistan announced 20140325 that Afghan police forces arrested 9 officials of Shield Security for further investigation regarding the attack on Serena hotel. Interior ministry officials said Deputy Director of Operations of Shield Security was also among those being investigated regarding the incident. Shield Security personnel were accused of negligence on duty and being reckless when terrorists entered the Serena hotel compound last week.

The first 2008 Kabul Serena Hotel attack was an attack on the gym of the Hotel, in Kabul, Afghanistan on January 14, 2008 with 7 killed. Another attack was 20140320 with 13 dead among them 9 foreigners.
