3. Biodata:
Abdurrahman Hotaki, Abdul Rahman Hotaki son of Habiburrahman Hotaki was born 1961 (other sorces 1963) in Kabul where he completed his high school education before travelling to Moscow. He completed his secondary education in Shah Do Shamshira High School and pursued higher education up to a graduate master degree in Sociology, Philosophy and International Relations between 1982 and 1988. In Moscow he a was awarded a Master's in Social Sciences from a Soviet Government run University. A Hotak Pashtun from Kabul, he is a long-time civil society activist. After the collapse of the Taleban regime, he founded the Afghan Organisation of Human Rights & Environmental Protection (AOHREP). He is currently also the chairman of the Civil Society Coordination Jirga – a body that is widely seen as representing the co-opted, pro-Palace wing of the civil society. His IEC Commissioner candidacy was reportedly supported by the president’s chief of staff Abdul Karim Khurram.
