3. Biodata:
Sharifa Sharif MrsMrs. Sharif was born 1975 and grew up in Kabul. She studied Pashtu Literature at Kabul University where she received an M.A. At the University she was the only woman in her class to study literature. She studied abroad in the United States, where her brother was a this time. 1994 she got her M.A. and M.Ed. from the University of Illinois. Her father was from a very religious family. He was a Mullah and later became a Judge. He ended up becoming a Governor in Uruzgan and opened the first girls school there. He was an liberal Intellectual.

Sharif worked for a RTV Afghanistan Radio Station reading Pashtu news. She had later worked for Radio Free Europe also. Dr. Sharifa Sharif was appointed Media Advisor to the President on International Affairs (20070404). Prior to her appointment, Sharif worked as a chief editor for RFE/RL's Radio Free Afghanistan in Prague. Mrs. Dr. Sharifa Sharif also was a cultural adviser to Afghanistan for the Canadian government. Dr. Sharifa Sharif is the author of the memoir On the Edge of Being: An Afghan Woman’s Journey (2011).
