3. Biodata:
Azad_RaihanaRaihana Azad, daughter of Ishaq, was born in 1982 in Zardini district, Daikundi
province. Azad completed her secondary education at Alama Shaheed Balkhi High School in Sharistan district, Daikundi province in 2005. She is currently (2012) a student of Political Science and International Relations at Kateb University in Kabul.

Rehana Azad is a Hazara Shia and also a member of Insijam-e Milli.

Azad has worked with non-governmental organizations and on cultural, political and social activities with a focus on women’s rights and the elimination of violence against women. She has also run projects for women’s capacity building and the defense of women’s rights. Azad was a member of the Women’s Peace Committee in Daikundi, and of the Afghan Women’s Network. She also representated Daikundi province in the 2010 Peace Jirga.

Commission (2012): Women’s Affairs, Civil Society and Human Rights.

She is married and has two children.

Azad speaks Dari, English and Pashto.
