Background:
Farah province has a Pashtun majority of 80%. Tajiks or better to say Persian (Fars) live around the capital city and are 14% of the population, while more than 50-56%% of the population speak Persian (also known as Dari Persian) as mother tongue. Balochs are concentrated in the south of the province. There are also some Aimaks and Hazaras. The primary Pashtun tribes in Farah Province are the Noorzai (tribe), Barakzai, and Alizay.
