Janan Musazai Mosazai son of Haji Mohammad Ghulam Musa, was born March 21, 1980 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He finished Nadirya High School in 1999. 2003 he continued his higher education in Bishkek, Kirgistan where he studied political science and international relations. He migrated to Canada, where he in four years got his Masters in Journalism at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, in 2010.
Later Janan Mosazai was a freelance journalist and civil society activist based in Kabul. He formerly worked as a political affairs officer with the United Nations in Afghanistan.
He is residing in Kabul City. In his Wolesi Jirga Election 2010 campaign he has distributed about 600 of the bright orange shirts that have become his trademark. His supporters wear them in the city and when he goes out to campaign in the rural areas. He has also attracted 500 fans on Facebook, he said. But he did not succeed to bag a seat in Parliament.
After having served as spokesman to the Minister of Foreign Affairs he was appointed Ambassador to Pakistan.(20131116)
