bahman_zuhraZuhra Bahman was born 1983 in Kabul as the oldest of three children. Afghanistan and is mostly a in London and Kabul living researcher and activist. She fled the country in 1999 after the Taliban invaded her home town Mazar-i-Sharif, and went to Pakistan. She lived some time in Pakistan as a refugee before leaving for UK in 2000. She studied Anthropology and Law at the London School of Economics and got her Master's from the Department of War Studies, King's College, London. Currently she is researching for her doctoral degree and also teaching law at the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul.

She is very sceptical that the transition process will work, because the afghan Government is too weak to take over. Her worst case scenario is that in 2014 Afghanistan won't be able to hold elections and will go back to chaos Afghanistan experienced in the 90th.

Bahman is married to Javed Ludin who was Afghanistans Ambassador to Canada since 2009 and became Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Kabul in March 2011. They have two girls.

Bahman speaks Dari and English.
