Zazai_DawoodMohammad Dawood Zazai was born 1957 in Paktia Province. He hails from the non-iranic tribe the Zazais who are descends of the Turco-Mongolian Jajis. Zazais are still known by non-pashtuns as Jajis in Afghanistan. Zazai is an influential tribal leader in Paktia Province who goes with the Karzai Government. He bagged most votes in Paktia Province Wolesi Jirga Election 2005. He is a member of the Committee on Combat with Narcotics in Wolesi Jirga 2005. "The Taliban are trying to target leaders more and more," said Mohammed Daoud Zazai. "Especially they are attacking the tribal leaders who have power over the people." Zazai a towering figure in a black turban, said he learned not to fear death during his days as an anti-Soviet warrior in the 1980s. On a assassination bid against President Karzai, two parliamentarians were wounded. It were Muhammad Daud Zazai and Fazel Rahman Samkanai, both legislators from Paktia province, according to a fellow parliamentarian who spoke to the New York Times.
