Abdul Ghafar Faizi Zadran was a candidate in the Wolesi Jirga Election 2005 in Paktika Province and secured 76 votes only and was not elected. In the 2010 Wolesi Jirga Election he bagged 2.025 votes but could not grab a seat. He is an ethnic Pashtun. He claims to be political independent. Abdul Ghaffar Faizi Zadran is also media officer at the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry in the Presidential Palace. He is Head of Administrative Affairs of the Presidential Office of Administration.

Background:
Abdul Ghafar Faizi Zadran hails from the Zadran or Dzadran is a tribe within the Pashtun ethnic group, originating in the "Dzadran arc" of Afghanistan, which includes the Wazi Zadran, Shwak and Gerda Serai districts of Paktia, Nika, Zaruk, Gayan and Urgun districts of Paktika, and parts of Qalandar, Nadar Shah Kot and Spira districts of Khost. Few members of the tribe can be also found in northwestern Pakistan near the Afghan border.
