3. Biodata:
Yassini_MirwaisMirwais Yasini is the son of Maulvi Abdul Sattar. He was born in 1963 in Tahir village of Kama district of Nangarhar province. He migrated to Pakistan after the invasion of Russian troops and got admission in the Islamabad International University. He got his master degree in Sharia and Political Science from the same university. He received an LL.B degree in Sharia from the International University, Islamabad in 1991 and earned his Masters of Law from the International Islamic University in 1993.

He later fought against the Soviet occupation between 1978-79. He allegedly went on to fight in the Tora Bora region, Khost and Paktia until the late 1980’s  He joined the Afghan Red Crescent Society as its head in Nangarhar in 2002 and then worked as director of foreign relations and economic affairs with the Ministry of Finance. He was member of the Emergency Loya Jirga convened in 2002 and then served as deputy of the Loya Jirga, director of counter narcotics and deputy minister counter narcotics.

He made his way to the Wolesi Jirga as a result of the 2005 parliamentary elections and appointed as first deputy of the Wolesi Jirga after some time. He bagged second most votes in Wolesi Jirga Election 2010.

He is a member of the Afghanistan Parliamentary Party.

Yasini received 6,698 votes in Wolesi Jirga election 2018 and got a seat in WJ 2018.

Omar Nasir Mujaddedi, Kamal Naser Osuli, Mirwais Yasini and Mir Rahman Rahmani have nominated themselves for the post of Wolesi Jirga 2018 Speaker. From the four candidates, Rahmani got 75 votes, Osuli 69 votes, Yasini 59 and Mujaddedi got seven votes. The two last candidates were removed from the list and in the next round, Osuli and Rahmani will compete for the position. (20190516)
