3. Biodata:
Obaid_ObaidullahProf. Dr. Obaidullah Obaid is the son of Abdul Wahab and was born in 1970, in Kabul. He received his early education from Manochehri School and Nadarya Higher Secondary School.  He acquired higher education from the Medical Faculty of Kabul University. A professor, he has a Master's degree. Having held different other positions at Kabul University, he also served as Director of the university.  He was a representative of Kabul residents at the Emergency Loya Jirga and the Constitutional Jirga. Said to be close to the Hezb-e Islami faction led by Minister Advisor Wahidullah Sabawun.

The Afghan parliament approved the nine nominated minister in the 20120305 session. Obaidullah Obaid winning 196 votes got the post of Higher Education Minister.

Obaidullah Obaid was traveling 20120715 between Baghlan and Kunduz provinces when his car hit a roadside bomb, similar to those used by the Taliban. He escaped unhurt. The blast took place at around 08:50 a.m. local time in Jari-e- Khoshk area of Baghlan-e-Markazi district.
 

He speaks Pashto, Dari and English.
