3. Biodata:
niazi_yusufDr Mohammad Yousuf Niazi Mohammad Yusuf Niazi, born in Kama district of Nangarhar province in 1959, received early education from the Betab School and Imam Abu Hanifa Seminary in Kabul. He went to Saudi Arabia for higher education and earned a Bachelor's degree in Sharia from the Islamic University in Madina. He did masters and doctorate in Islamic Studies from the Umm Al-Qura University, where he also served as a teacher in 2001. Having earned several letters of appreciation and medals for his outstanding job, Niazi was working as advisor to the Education Ministry.
Niazi was confirmed by Wolesi Jirga in January 2010 (132 for, 80 against, 10 blank, 1 invalid).

He is the author of several books in  three languages. Fluent in Pashto, Dari and Arabic, he can also speak English.

Wolesi Jirga, lower house of parliament, on 20120521 decided to summon the hajj minister for depriving 700 eligible pilgrims from performing last year’s (2011) ritual.
