Some years he lived in Pakistan (1987-1992) before emigrating to the United States of America, where he also received his higher education. He is the second son of Hazrat Sebghatullah Mujadadi, former speaker of upper house, who was the leader of Nejat-e-Milli. He has a B.S. in Civil Engineering/Structures, 1971 - University of Hawaii, United States M.S. in Civil Engineering/Structures, 1973 - Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, United States, Ph.D. in Engineering Science and Mechanic, 1977 - Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, United States. He spent almost 20 years living in Virginia, America.

He is a founding member and member of various organisations (Founding Member, Member of Board of Directors and President (2007–2009), Society of Afghan Architects %26 Engineers (SAAE), Afghanistan. Kabul Governor Zabihullah Mujaddedi resigned on Monday, 28. Feb. 2011, accusing the government of ignoring his reconstruction programmes for the province.

Zabihullah Mujaddedi is the head of the Jabha-e-Nejat-e-Milli Afghanistan party.(20210413)
