mashal_lutfullahLutfullah Mashal son of Lal Gul Khan was born Dec 25, 1971 in the Shah Shaheed area of Kabul city. He graduated from the University of Peshawar in 1994 with a Master's Degree in English literature. From 2003 to 2005, Lutfullah served as a senior spokesperson and adviser in the Ministry of the Interior. After receiving a scholarship from Kent University, he moved to Britain where he obtained a Masters Degree in Political Science and International Relations. He is the author of several books in Pashto and English. Lutfullah Mashal once worked for The Christian Science Monitor as an interpreter, before joining the Afghan government (NDS) as a spokesman.(20120802)

He was running as an Independent candidate for Wolesi Jirga (Parliament) from Kabul in the coming elections in 2018 election, but did not bag a seat in WJ 2018.
