3. Biodata: Wakil Mangul Mangal, an ethnic Pashtun, Mangal was born 1954 in Musa Khel (Province Khost) in eastern Afghanistan and studied zoology at Kabul University before getting his masters degree in the Soviet Union. He graduated in 1978 and later received a PhD from Kashinov University of Moldavia.
After 1992, when the regime of Najibullah collapsed and the mujahedin took control of Kabul, he stopped professional work.
He then went to Pakistan, where he became an editor and writer for the magazines Da Jihad Hindara, Mirror of Jihad, and Munba-ul-Jihadm, Source of Jihad. He also wrote three books on politics.
He was an independent candidate in the presidential elections 2004 with his Vice-presidents: Mohammed Yunus Moghil and Dina Gul.
He speaks Pashtu, English, Russian and Urdu. |
